Handheld colour measurement, perfected
The eXact 2 series brings fast, non-contact spectrophotometric measurement to the print floor. Built for paper, film, and flexible substrates, both models deliver M0–M3 simultaneous readings, a digital loupe, touchscreen control, and onboard Wi-Fi, in a device you can take anywhere in your facility.
Why choose the eXact 2 for print colour measurement?
The eXact 2 is engineered specifically for paper, film, and flexible substrates, the materials that define commercial and packaging print. Its non-contact measurement design reduces wear on both the device and the sample, while the Mantis technology and Digital Loupe ensure you're measuring exactly where you intend to. Whether you're checking a spot colour on press or walking a proof through QC, the eXact 2 gives you fast, repeatable, industry-standard results without being tethered to a bench.
Which aperture size should I choose?
Both models are available in four aperture sizes, letting you match the measurement area to your typical patch or sample size. Smaller apertures suit tight register work and fine detail; larger apertures are faster and better suited to solid areas or wide-gamut evaluation. All aperture options are the same price.
Aperture size Measurement area Target window opening
1.5 mm 1.5 mm 3.5 mm
2 mm 2 mm 4 mm
4 mm 4 mm 6 mm
6 mm 6 mm 8 mm
What makes the eXact 2 Plus worth the upgrade?
The Plus model adds the ability to switch between polarized and non-polarized substrates without changing the device, critical for ink manufacturers and printers working across mixed media. It also unlocks specialist analytical functions including opacity, metamerism index, colour strength, and paper quality assessment, giving ink formulators and colour managers the data they need to make confident decisions. The included one-year Pantone Connect subscription adds cloud-based colour standard access right out of the box.
What makes the eXact 2 Xp different from the other models?
The Xp is purpose-built for polarised substrates, film, poly, foil, and similar flexible materials that are difficult to measure reliably with standard instruments. Its fixed polarised filter ensures consistent readings regardless of how the device is oriented to the sample, eliminating the variation that can arise when measuring reflective or directional surfaces. It also features onboard NetProfiler, which uses a combination of software and colour standards to detect and correct colour drift automatically, keeping measurements consistent across multiple devices in your facility. A Bluetooth version and a non-Bluetooth version are both available.
